Corby Council's leaders says a full investigation will begin into reported failings by council officers.

A report from the Audit Commission last week criticised the authority over discrepancies in a housing project
on Kingswood that they oversaw.

Findings in the report said extra payments had been made on the project that were unaccounted - and that payments had been made for services with no evidence the services had been provided.

In a statement released over the weekend council leader Tom Beattie said elected members were shocked and dissapointed by the revelations.

A plan on how to kick start enterprise in the region was debated in Corby this week.

The Corby Enterprise Centre held a meeting from South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership.

The point of the organisation is to work with local authorities and business on ways to stimulate growth and
enterprise.

Corby civic leaders had previously bid to SEMLEP for enterprize zone status, but lost to Northampton.
