Council ponders action / Funding Fair
10 February 2010
Corby Council may take legal action against a developer.
The Council says Pro Logis owes the authority and the county council four million pounds in total. The council says under a special agreement the money would have gone towards environmental improvements in the borough in exchange for rights to build near to a rail terminal.
Theyve stated that Pro Logis has less than two weeks to pay the amount or further action will be taken.
Not enough funding grants are received from Corby.
That's the suprising findings that have spurred local voluntary organisations to set up a special funding fair at West Glebe Park.
The organisers say that major charitable funders such as the Big Lottery Fund and the Lloyds TSB foundation are not getting enough applications from the Kettering and Corby area.
In the last year only three big grants were made to both towns.Organisers say the fair is open to all not-for-profit organisations locally at the West Glebe Pavilion on Wednesday from 10 am to 5 pm.
