Two men are being held by police after a house
fire off Shetland Way in Corby overnight.

Five fire crews dealt with the fire at a ground
floor flat on Orkney Walk at around 2am, bringing it under control
and leading people inside to safety.

Police and fire forensic teams are due to continue
investigations today, while the men remain in custody.



Three people were injured by a road traffic
accident in Corby yesterday.

None of the injured were seriously hurt by the accident which happened
at around 1:30 on Oakley Road near to the town centre.

As a result, Police closed the road between there and Geddington Road
until around 3:15, causing some traffic delays around town.


Corby will be one of just ten boroughs across England and Wales
to trial so-called "community contracts".

It's a plan by the Home Office to develop
voluntary agreements between locals, elected
officials and public service providers.
