Steelmen pre season continues

After defeating Kettering 2-1 last week and losing 1-0 at home to Stevenage midweek, Corby will host Peterborough United for the Maunsell Cup Final this Sunday at 3pm.

False Start costs Sharman

Corby's William Sharman was unable to progress further in the European Athetics Championship ( Friday ) after he was disqualified for a false start in the semi final of the 110m hurdles in Barcelona.

Drawn in Lane 8, Sharman broke first before the gun - and under current athletics rules that meant he was thrown out of the contest.

The Belgrave Harrier could only look on as British team mate Andy Turner won the final to claim the crown of European Champion.
