Corby Town 4-2 Blyth

This is Corby's last league game of the season, with victory meaning that Droylsden and Hinckley would need points from their last games on Saturday to knock Corby out of the play-off slots.

Normal admission prices for the game have been scrapped - fans are asked to make a donation of at least 50p on the gate. The new car park will be open as will parking at the Rockingham Forest Hotel.

Gloucester 1-2 Corby Town

Corbytown.net reports: "This was another must win game for Corby Town and Steve Diggin (51) and Leon Mettam (65) provided the goals that have kept the club on track for the possible play offs.

Missed chances in the first half could have cost the Steelmen dearly but their two sharp-shooters Digin and Mettam made sure there was only ever gonig to be one winner in the second half after Paul Mayo had cleared a goal bound shot from Gloucester off his own line."

Saturday fixtures

Blue Square North: AFC Telford Utd 2-4 Corby Town - Mettam (pen 25, pen 68) Diggin (52, 90)

To grab the last spot in the Conference North play-offs, the Steelmen need to win their last two remaining league games - away to Gloucester City Monday evening and home to Blyth Spartans on Wednesday - and hope that neither Droylsden or Hinckley win their last games next Saturday.

Steelmen up to 7th / Blyth game

Blue Square North: Harrogate Town 0-4 Corby Town

On Tuesday night the Steelmen moved up to 7th in the league with a second half display that had relegated Harrogate by the final whistle. Steve Towers opened the scoring followed by efforts from Jack Defty, Leon Hibbert and Glenn Walker.

Special pricing arrangements have been brought in for final home game of the season for Corby Town - which is against Blyth Spartans next Wednesday evening ( April 21 ).

The club say that fans can pay only 50p at the least on the gate.. CTFC Chairman Peter Mallinger said "We were going to reduce the prices for the Blyth game owing to the earlier game being called off at half time.

It struck us this was a better way of a saying thanks to our supporters and giving the opportunity for those who haven't been to the Triangle to come along and see the game at a price they think fit.

Just seeing the works going on at the new ground must be worth 50p!"

Boating Lake Fishing

Barry Scholes reports: Match results for open match held Sat. 10/4/10

1st Andy Cooksley 20lbs.9ozs. 2nd Grant Howie 20lbs.6ozs. (inc. a 10lbs. Mirror Carp) 3rd Gary Robinson 7lbs. 2ozs.

Barry says: Four other Anglers fished the match but failed to weigh in although they caught fish. To be frank they & I would expect to catch min. nets of 8lbs. & the recent change in the weather has affected the fish behaviour. This will settle down in the next few days & 20lb bags should be expected. One of our regular, experienced carp anglers had a break-off on Saturday, which is highly unusual. I have known him to bank a number of mid 20's - so how big was this one ? He did, however land at least 3 carp for a total of around 30lbs.
