Tributes for Corby soldier

Tributes have been paid to a British soldier from Corby who was killed in Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Defence released official details this afternoon following the death of 24 year old Lance Corporal James Ashworth.
Lance Corporal Ashworth served in the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards and died while on patrol in Helmand province.
His platoon commander Captain Mike Dobbin said they had lost " a strong commander, outstanding
leader and dear friend" adding that his family and girlfriend should be "extremely proud of the courage
he displayed and the life that he led".
Lance Corporal Ashworth's family have released the following statement:
"We are devastated by the loss of our son, brother, uncle and boyfriend. He meant the world to everyone and has left an irreplaceable hole in our hearts. We ask that we are given time to grieve and we sincerely thank everyone for their condolences."
Lance Corporal James Ashworth is 418th member of UK forces to have died since operations in Afghanistan began in October 2001.
